The Hastelloy C-4 is an austenitic low carbon nickel-molybdenum Chromium alloy. The main difference between Nicrofer 6616 hMo and other early developed alloys of similar chemicals is the content of low-carbon, Silicon, iron, and tungsten. Such chemical composition makes it show excellent stability at 650-1040 °C, improves the ability to resist intercrystalline corrosion, and can avoid blade corrosion sensitivity and weld heat impact zone corrosion under appropriate manufacturing conditions. Alloys are used in flue gas desulphurization systems, acid washing and acid regeneration plants, acetic acid and agro-chemical production, titanium dioxide production(chlorine process), electroplating, etc..

1. Do not contact sulfur, phosphorus, lead and other low-melting metals during heat treatment. Otherwise, the alloy will become brittle. Care should be taken to remove dirt such as marker paint, temperature indicating paint, colored crayons, lubricants, and fuel. The lower the sulfur content in the fuel, the better. The sulfur content in natural gas should be less than 0.1 %, and the sulfur content in heavy oil should be less than 0.5 %. Electric furnace heating is a better choice, because the electric furnace can accurately control the temperature, the furnace gas is clean. If the furnace gas is pure enough, you can choose.

2.The thermal processing temperature of the alloy range from 1080 °C to 900 °C, the cooling method is water cooling or other rapid cooling methods. In order to ensure the best antiseptic properties, solid solution heat treatment should be carried out after heat processing.
