Modular DC / AC inverters by Cotek Systems in the SR-1600-Plus series are suitable for industrial applications, telecommunications and datacomms, renewable energy as part of rackmount systems or as independent units. Available at Relec Electronics.
They feature a Modbus connection, in addition to a simple network management protocol (SNMP). The RS-485 Modbus port allows users to control and monitor parameters, such as electrical power, output power, internal temperature and protection levels. The 1600VA inverter modules are for 24V or 48V inputs and the series includes a bespoke 2U sub-rack, system controller, and remote-control options and switching storage.
Inverters have an 89 to 91% performance in DC / AC mode and provide line conditioning of the AC input supply for use with modern IT systems where the main input AC supply may vary or non-sinusoidal, for example from a generator. The power factor is over 0.99 and the maximum AC efficiency is 95%.
Inverters can be used as a DC / AC inverter, where the input source is DC or battery supply, and as an AC mode with DC backup with zero transfer time. They can also share power between AC and DC sources.
There are a variety of AC inputs (minimum ± 20%) and offer a controlled, output-free AC (± 2%). By using renewable energy, inverters can also separate the load between the AC and DC input source, where the DC supply is not always available, or take advantage of low-cost AC sources.
Inverters are designed for use with the bespoke 2U sub-rack or can be used as standalone units. Blanking panels support unpopulated slots, for future expansion. Sub-racks can be provided via the SN-1 Plus Ethernet support interface, or the CR-21 system at the local level. The SR-2U2-Plus sub-rack can hold up to four SR-1600-Plus modules, offering 1600 - 6400VA outputs, with redundancy and upgrade options.
The system can be easily configured with up to eight sub-racks, or 32 parallel-connected modules capable of delivering up to 51.2kVA. Each DC / AC inverter has a footprint of just 105 x 83 x 405mm and is hot-swappable in live systems for uninterrupted operation in sensitive systems during maintenance and system upgrades.
