Honda has recalled 608,000 vehicles for faulty software. Reportedly, faulty software can cause the backup camera to malfunction and cause the driver display in the gauge cluster to fail or start itself. Reminders are expected to begin on September 23, 2020.

This software problem has occurred in the Honda instrument control panel module which included mainly the 2018-20 Honda Odysseys, the 2019-20 Honda Pilot SUVs, and the 2019-21 Honda Passport SUVs. And since there is no smart 0ver-the-air update or fix available, car owners will have to visit the Honda Dealership to repair the software.

This is not the first time Honda has run into issues involving malicious software, as the car manufacturer had to recall nearly 232,000 Accords and Insights a few years ago due to the same type of problems.

And, it should be noted, that this is the second recall act from Honda this year, as just a few months ago they had to recall the number of 1.4 million vehicles worldwide that had been improperly installed at the wrong fuel pump from Denso, a Japanese car parts manufacturer. Among the cars to be recalled were the 2018-19 Acura NSX, 2019 RDX, RLX, and RLX hybrid, 2019 Honda Accord, 2019 Civic hatchback and R, 2019 HR-V, 2019 Fit, and 2019-20 Insight.

The transition to modern automobiles seems to be difficult for Honda, as a company known for its honesty, has begun to slow down. However, Honda's loyal fans remains strong, as after all, it is an automaker that has established identity for years to sell reliable and desirable cars around the world.
