DORSET - Mechatronics suppliers Electro Mechanical Systems (EMS) open's a factory in Dorset.
The Enterprise House is a 40,000-square-foot building in a secure two-hectare Holton Heath area near Poole Harbor.
"It is a welcome development from a previous institution where the emergence of a business has resulted in the company operating from multiple units," the company said. "As a Dorset based business since 1953, it has been important for us to invest in the local community that has served us so well for nearly for nearly 70 years."
The company supplies proprietary motors, gear-heads, encoders and actuation systems, and offers bespoke design and manufacture of complete drive systems.
The factory will use Industry 4.0 technology to communicate from servers to machine tools, and thermal stability will be built in production facilities to maintain accuracy.
The venue will also provide a place for research and development, in-house testing capability and conference facilities.
There will be solar panels on the roof and charging points for electric vehicles in the parking lot.
