“This agreement marks an exciting new area for UK-US space collaboration and represents a significant step towards US companies launching from UK spaceports,” said the UK ambassador to the US Dame Karen Puerce, who signed the agreement.UK spaceports are envisaged at Sutherland, Newquay, Shetland, the Western Isles, Glasgow Prestwick, Campbeltown, and Snowdonia.The agreement enables the many UK companies engaged in the manufacturing and launching of satellites to launch domestically instead if having to use foreign launch pads.
